SUNNYVALE, CA -- Network Appliance, (NASDAQ: NTAP) the Sunnyvale-based data management company, announced the acquisition of Topio for $160 million in cash. Topio is a privately-help storage software company that helps enterprises store, recover and protect data regardless of the infrastructure it uses. Network Appliance said that the acquisition will help it expand its data protection capabilities.
